It was good now it's gone

The patio out back here is the place to sit, it's quiet shady and tucked in the back away from the main drag. The service was pretty good, and the food was freshly prepared and very tasty. The guac was good, a little spicier than some, but in a good way. The salad bowls were ENORMOUS. and the build your own choices were varied. You can make exactly the salad you want here, no problem.

This place serves one of the best salads I've had. There used to be another salad spot I loved, but it's no longer open this one definitely fills that gap, and I'll definitely be coming back. It is a little on the pricier side, but it's worth it. I ordered online for pickup, and by the time I arrived my food was already ready. The location is a bit tucked away in the back, but the space itself is simple, clean, and inviting. I chose the create your own salad, which includes five toppings. I tried both the pesto Ceezer and the sweet sesame dressings. The sweet sesame is lighter and not overly sweet, which I liked. My favorite, though, was the pesto Ceezer it was creamy, fresh, and really flavorful.

There aren't enough good salad places - so ordered delivery from this place to try it out. Our salads were great - generous portion of protein-packed salad. ingredients were fresh and the dressing was delicious. Loved their presentation - all the toppings are grouped so you can pour in your dressing and shake the box.

The food looks exactly like the pictures. Vibrant, fresh and delicious! My friend and I were checking out this place because it looked healthy and fresh. Yes and yes! We were helped by the owner who was so hospitable. He let my friend taste the basil that was displayed in the restaurant. We ordered the Samurai Steak Salad and Steak Supreme Salad. Perfect portions! He even gave us a free watermelon drink that had basil in it. Refreshing and tasty! We also chatted with one of the staff. He was pleasant to talk to and loved the food. Love when staff love the product they serve. Only complaint...the Campbell location is very difficult to find. It a definite hidden gem.

Tried The Good Salad for the first time today. Had a Samurai Steak Salad delivered for lunch. Overall I loved the salad, especially the variety of ingredients like edamame, roasted peanuts, carrots, and green onions. Everything tasted fresh and delicious ... except the steak. I saw pictures of what the steak looked like before I ordered, but somehow got it in my head it would be thinly sliced and medium rare. Nope. It was cubed, cold, and slathered in spicy mayonnaise, which was very, very spicy. Too spicy to eat. I should have asked them to leave the mayo off. They do allow you to customize your salad, which I love. I opted for 100% romaine and added corn. Yum. The sesame dressing it came with was good, but not my favorite. It also comes with a glaze, which I did not try. I was surprised they didn't have a bigger selection of dressings. Honey mustard would have been good.

The Good Salad is a cute salad bar in downtown Campbell. They took over the space from Brown Chicken Brown Cow and didn't change much of the design or layout. The service is really friendly and fast. We got the Caesar salad and the brazing chicken salad. Both salads were great with fresh quality ingredients. To be honest, the two salads were too similar to really get a good sampling of their menu. I guess I'll need to go back and try different items.

My favorite salads are the Blazing Bird Salad and Cali Caesar! I would pass on the Steak Supreme. Overall, quality salads and great service. I will note that I hate the parking situation around this location - I'd rather just go to the other location to pick up the food to-go. The salads here are great, quick to make and grab, but I don't know if parking (especially on weekends) are worth it.

Nothing like a healthy and filling salad that won't break the bank! I'm not sure when salads got to be over $20, but it was refreshing to see them range from $14-$15 here, while including meat - even steak! They have a variety of already composed salads as well as a BYO menu. The BYO option might run you a little more if you select steak, but they start at $15 and offer a good variety of toppings. Ingredients are fresh and salads are filling! They're located downtown Campbell in the old Brown Chicken Brown Cow location, so a little tucked away, but just look for the pink signage and you should be able to find them!

Great make your own salad spot. Located in some back alley, hole in the wall. You wouldn't think much of it if you randomly walked by, but this salad spot is really great! The decor is reminiscent of a Jamba Juice, but feels obviously more health conscious and has a nice vibe to it. The salad portion felt pretty generous and the staff was really accommodating for a place you order while standing. I wasn't a fan of their wild watermelon juice as it was fixed with some greens that really took the sweetness out of the drink, but everything else about this place slaps for me. Definitely worth the journey navigating through the back alleys of Campbell!

    Clean and bright interior.

There has been a couple of instances where it's been super awkward interacting with team members. It was noticed that employees were not changing their gloves as frequent as would be expected. Staff use the same gloves to touch surfaces through out the work station then move right to handling food. One instance I asked that gloves be changed which caused a sense of unpleasantness from said staff member. Who then proceeded to make my wrap extra small. Another time, a Chicken Caesar Wrap was ordered where egg an bacon was added. This was very troubling as it was not noticed until after a few bites were taken. I've not eaten pork in many years. Unfortunately, there is no way of contacting a manager by phone. I went in to speak someone in person who was kind enough to remake the order. Last night, I went in for a Caesar Wrap and tried to request changing of gloves in a discreet way. Somehow there was a confusion which confused the request as an Allergy? A couple of staff members spoke amongst themselves which was pretty awkward. It was requested that gloves be changed that seems to be a trigger? The lady continued making the order then stopped to check me out. To much dismay, immediately began rolling the wrap together. By this point, It was too much. I ate the inside of the wrap only. It's a huge shame but moving forward I'll only order food which is minimally touched by employees. This will spare the ordeal of asking that gloves be changed? One more bit of observation is that to go orders for salad have an slip sitting right onto food bowls.

Then about a week ago I got the crispy Thai brussels sprouts, and they were DELICIOUS! Today I got chicken tenders and the elote side dish. The chicken tenders were good and reminded me of fast food I used to get as a kid. I kinda regretted the meal afterwards because it was a lot of sodium and fried food not the healthiest choice. I am watching my weight and fried chicken probably is not the best choice for that. Starbird gave me a free $10 reward after my first purchase. I would probably go back and get either a salad or the brussels sprouts again. They do have the option of grilled chicken on a salad, so that's probably what I would get. I don't want to regain the 90 pounds I lost. Overall, Starbird is a good fried chicken restaurant with some healthy options like salads. I've been here a few times, and I honestly don't know why I haven't reviewed this place yet…read more The moment you walk into Manresa Bread, you're greeted right away. The space has a modern yet warm feel with beautiful natural wood finishes, fresh loaves of sourdough lining the shelves, pastries displayed in the case, and a mix of large communal wood tables, regular seating, and high-top tables. It's the kind of café that makes you want to slow down and stay awhile. The staff was friendly and helped us choose both a pastry and our toast. They were also happy to customize our order--we asked for the levain sourdough toast with butter instead of the usual olive oil. That toast was absolutely divine. The sourdough had the perfect balance: chewy without being too sour, with a crust that was crisp but not so hard that it fought back. Easily the best sourdough toast I've had in the Bay Area. If you come here, this is the one thing you have to order. The only disappointment was the butter. They serve French butter, but for an extra $2, the portion was tiny and honestly nothing special. I've had better butter from Whole Foods. It didn't take away from how incredible the bread was, but it wasn't worth the upcharge. Their Kouign-amann is also one of the best I've ever had. Instead of the typical flat, flaky style, theirs is taller with countless buttery layers that create an amazing texture. The cappuccino was another highlight. It had subtle notes of orange peel, whiskey, and cardamom, making it unique. The latte art was beautiful too. Overall, Manresa Bread is one of those cafés that makes you want to sit down with a laptop or a book and spend a few hours there. The only downside is there are no power outlets, so come with a full battery if you're planning to work. Must orders: Levain sourdough toast with butter and the Kouign-amann. 1st time here. A friend invited me to join her, and said it was where many of her co-workers ate…read more The short version is: my meal was very sub-par, and way over-priced. The details: I normally don't eat a lot of meat, so I chose the Falafel Salad. It came with extremely little lettuce, plus a few olives (which I don't eat), onions (which I also eat sparingly), tomatoes, cucumbers, and the falafel balls. Oh! And there was feta cheese, but those were such miniscule pieces, and so few, that I wouldn't have remembered it was supposed to be part of the salad, if I didn't just pull up a photo online with their ordering system. What you see in the photo online is not what you get. The photo actually looks like a salad. Since it was called a salad, I expected there to be more lettuce, than the few pieces on the plate. I mainly was cutting up the cucumber & tomato pieces to go with the falafels. I don't even recall any dressing. There were also some pita slices with what I assumed was hummus. Whatever the dip was, it did not taste good to me at all. So I left all of the pita bread, as well, since it was dry without anything on it. Maybe what I assumed was hummus was a dressing. Hard to know, but it was not tasty. For the $27 I paid at a walk up counter, I would have expected much better food! I have bought frozen falafels at Lunardis (around $7) and made a salad for them at home, and enjoyed it very much, which is why I ordered it. I have purchased Spanakopita at the store many times, (about $5 for around 12 of them at the store) and made them at home, which is why I didn't order that. The falafel salad was not an enjoyable meal for me at Yiassoo's. I'd also seen some reviews from a few years back that said they paid around $10 or $11 for their meal. That is more in-line price-wise with what you get, based upon my meal. With most of the meals around $20 for lunch, I feel they were very over-priced. I also asked my friend if she'd like to split a Baklava. They had a pistachio one & chocolate one. My friend wanted to try the chocolate one, so I bought that. I didn't think I was too into baklava, but thought it might be nice to try at this highly rated Greek restaurant. The main flavor that came through was the honey & nuts. The chocolate was just a tiny, narrow drizzle on top. I didn't hate it, but I would never order it again. My friend took one bite, and said she mainly tasted the honey, and would take it home for her husband. It may be very good baklava, but it was not to our tastes. My friend ordered the Gyro salad. It had a large pile of shaved meat, and she seemed to enjoy it. She ordered it To-Go, as she knew she'd be taking some of it home. She seemed to have more lettuce under her pile of meat than my meal got. Maybe because it was in a To-Go box, which might be larger than the plate? Or maybe the person making my salad just wasn't paying attention to how to make a decent meal. I was hoping I was trying a restaurant that I could go back to for something different. Based upon my experience, I would not go back, if I had a choice. I gave it 3 stars, because maybe other dishes, or people looking to just eat meat or falafel balls and not much else would enjoy it. I only have the 1 meal to review, but it does not encourage me to try it again. Overpriced & not a fulfilling meal.

Just never got around to working a review before. Went early on a Saturday evening recently and was surprised to not have to wait. We split a Bibb lettuce salad that was simple, refreshing and perfect. A tiny pea fritter was the very definition of a small bite, and while it wasn't what I expected, it was crisp and tender. Grilled artichoke was one of the best I have ever had. (Just wish they had been explicit on the menu that it was a half a grilled artichoke). Cocktails were up to their usual high standard -- rye Manhattan for the BF and clarified milk punch for me. I don't get out much these days and I rarely drink alcohol, but is $20 a lot for a cocktail? Or is that normal now? They were great though. BF got the ribeye with morels, which was perfectly cooked and unbelievably tender. I had the burger, which was more exciting than it sounds, dressed with a wild combo of veggies, cheese and bacon while still managing to be harmonious and fresh tasting. Side of fries were crisp and tasty, though not as perfectly hot as I would ideally wish. Because the burger was late coming out, or server (Bernardo I think?) comped us an amazing little dish of vanilla soft serve ice cream with olive oil and sea salt, along with the butterscotch pudding that we ordered. The pudding didn't have the strong butterscotch flavor that I hoped for, but the vanilla ice cream stole the dessert show. OCK isn't a place I can afford often, but I still really like it. I appreciate the creativity of the dishes, the quality ingredients, and the bar. And the old-school shopping center vibe of the Pruneyard is low key festive and garden-like. The interior of the restaurant is kind of standard-industrial modern, but nicely so. Oh, and their glassware is super nice.

All dishes were sub standard save for the squash flower fritters. Milk punch and other cocktails are still worth the visit. Additionally the patio space at night is unmatched in terms of a cozy and perfectly intimate dinner experience. Our server Katherine N was outright hostile and messed up our order on top of having a really rude and unprofessional attitude. Bummer. This used to be the best dining in Pruneyard but its sister restaurant Be.steak.a, as well as Luna and Marafuku Ramen make OCK's bib gourmand look more than undeserved. The rest of the wait staff is lovely, and we look forward to some improvements in the menu intentionality and execution as well as said outlier staff member, as this restaurant has been a favorite in our family for over five years.

I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich with short ribs, onion rings and a chocolate milkshake with whipped cream (I asked for a maraschino cherry). My girlfriend ordered a plain hamburger and a soft drink. The food, as usual, was very tasty and came out very quickly. The facility is clean, located in a mall that has a Tastetea, Cha Cha Sushi, and other nice places. There is a Wells Fargo Bank in this mall as well. We consider this our "go to" place to eat good American food, we weren't disappointed. We both came back home, happy and replete.

I had the Havarti Shroom Burger - beef patty, havarti cheese, double portion mushroom topping, regular mayo instead of the jalapeño scallion aioli, lettuce wrap instead of the gourmet brioche bun. My burger was cooked to my liking and very tasty. The lettuce wrap was large and with the paper wrapper, I was able to eat the burger in my hands and not with a knife and fork. Very nice. For my side, I had the Stand Slaw: house-made slaw with green and red cabbage, green onion, parsley, and our house-made slaw dressing. This was nice and vinegary. A bit too many green onions for my taste but overall not bad. But I probably will do a different side next time. Good service and good food!

The food is consistently delicious, and I honestly haven't been disappointed by anything I've tried. If it's your first time, definitely order one of the sandwiches or the birria burrito--both are absolutely worth it. For drinks, I highly recommend the matcha or the iced Vienna latte. They pair perfectly with the food and are always well made. Even when the café is busy, the service is consistently friendly and efficient. The staff does a great job keeping things moving, and the food usually comes out surprisingly fast. I'll admit it's on the pricier side, but the quality makes it feel worth it. Sometimes you leave thinking, "That was expensive," but then you remember how good everything tasted and can't really complain They've also added an outdoor seating area since my last visit, which is a great addition. The entire café is clean, cute, and has a welcoming atmosphere whether you're grabbing brunch with friends or just stopping in for coffee. Overall, Morning Lobby is still an easy five stars for me. Great food, great drinks, fast service, and a cozy space! I'll definitely keep coming back.

I would recommended this place for the great flavor in both burritos. The green sauce is good and I did not try the other sauce. Staff was great and did not wait long for our food. Wish they had more than one washrooms. There should be a sink outside to wash hands and not have to wait for the washroom.
