The service was hands down one of the better ones I've had. We went here for a date night, me and Husband. It was cold that night, but the patio was pretty warm with the outdoor heating lamps. Extremely crowded for a Tuesday night but they still were able to get our party of 18 in but split between two tables. They said they were going to put them together after other guests left, but that didn't happen and we just naturally ended up at the bigger table due to attrition in our numbers of people returning to the hotel. So I ordered a beer and they were out of Austin eastciders? You're a BAR. Ok, fine. Ordered tacos Al Pastor and the pieces of fatty pork belly were super charred to a crispy burn. So my friend actually recommended that we meet up to watch the first Monday Night Football game. I had just recently moved to the area and I didn't know a good place to go close by, he told me to meet him at the Yard House. When I arrived it was quite packed so I found us a seat at the bar unsure if we were going to eat or what the plan was. When I sat at the bar I asked for a water to start off. The bartender said "You have to be 21 to sit at the bar" like most places I DO know this rule, I am aware that I look young, so I showed her my ID & I had my school ID behind it when I pulled it out (I have a Florida ID) she said was that another Texas one behind it, I felt like I was being accused of having a fake. I was disappointed and turned off immediately considering I just turned 21 a week ago. She got me the water and left me alone. I all of a sudden didn't want to be there anymore at all. My friend actually never ended showing up (car troubles). Since I was already there and had some what been in conversation with the group at the bar next to me I decided I should grab a bite to eat and a beer. Since I have not been 21 for long I didn't know what to order beer wise with SO many on the menu. When I asked Julie (I believe) the bartender what she recommended she seemed very very annoyed like "Oh my gosh this girl is 21 she doesn't belong here if she doesn't know what she's wants/talking about". She said to me just depends on what you like and walked away. Well, you did a wonderful job up-selling - I went with a Coors light the only one I knew. Then I waited for another bartender to come along, Megan I think was her name, to get some recommendations on food. I was never told about the special they had going on luckily the guy next to me told me. On Monday Nights (For football) From Kick off till last play all apps and pizza are 1/2 price. I'm glad another customer could tell me this. So I decided to order the sliders with the sauce on the side (came with fries and a pickle) and a Cesar salad. So my salad came out they offered fresh black pepper and I accepted. I started eating it and realized that it was a regular salad with ranch. Well, no one came back to check on everything and it was challenging to get anyone's attention so I ate a little bit and pushed it out of the way. (ALSO I didn't know a salad with ranch dressing came with pieces of corn and a piece of pineapple in it, kind of odd? I think it wasn't supposed to be there) The bar tender took it out of the way without saying anything. Then my sliders came out with the sauce on them, I asked the (food runner I assume) if the sauce was already on there and she said yes. I told her I asked without and so she brought it back to the kitchen and Megan came by and apologized to me. While I was eating I found it rather unprofessional that the bar tenders were talking about other customers on the opposite end of the bar from me... and other waitstaff. I was watching the game but couldn't help over hear their conversation. They also swore a few times, which I mean okay that's fine we are all adults. But really? Later, the guy next to me said "Can I have another Black Russian", and handed his credit card over since he had already closed out his tab. She took the credit card and was looking through the computer and goes sir I can't close your tab because you don't have one open. THIS time I was just frustrated and we told her once again that he wanted ANOTHER. It was not that loud in there, I just don't think the bartenders cared. It's about paying attention to details. They could have up-sold. I may have been 21, but I was willing to spend to try the beer and food it's an experience. That is what dining is. I can promise you I will not go back here unless I have someone else paying, and still I may even say I'm sick. The food was good, but the service made the food not even matter. This place is a favorite of mine and my family!!!! Everything here is sooooo good!!! The truffle fries are delicious!!! Some things that I have had and really love here (other than the truffle fries) include the shrimp rice bowl, BBQ chicken pizza, and the lobster, crab, and artichoke dip. The truffle fries are awesome! Thin, crispy, and full of flavor! That's why I rate it 5 stars....for the truffle fries. Good portion too. I suggest getting the sliders during Happy Hour time and ask for truffle fries instead of the normal ones. I've only tried the turkey sliders and they were delicious- full of flavor and juicy. The onion ring tower is really good too. I like Lindeman's Frambroise - tastes just like raspberry juice! I got the Southern Belle (which is sweet tea vodka, lemonade, fresh strawberries and pineapple) and it just tasted like sweet tea vodka. Real rating is 0. I attempted to give this place a zero star but it won't let me! The first time we eat there, the food was Ok, the service was good. We thought it was low value for the $$$. The second time, we had the same experience but we wanted to meet friends who picked this place. The 3rd and last, the service was HORRIBLE! The waitress was rude and kept dripping water/beer on me and my friends and practically threw a knife at my 8 mts pregnant friend. Then our bill came and we had to pay the full 18% because our party of 12. Our share was $130 for two with two main dishes and 3 alocoholic beverages. I go here for happy hour because having dinner here can be pricey. I think Yardhouse has the best tasting beer in Houston. Yes, you may pay more but it tastes the best here. They keep their taps up and it makes for a fresh, amazing tasting beer. The happy hour specials are great and make it affordable. The staff is attentive and you aren't left waiting for your next drink. The nachos are awesome. The BBQ pizza has an interesting flavor that some will love and some will pass on. Overpriced and horrendous service! We had a party of 15 people, and were told the wait was about 45 minutes to an hour. After waiting for an hour, our buzzer vibrated so we approached the hostess station only to be informed that there still waiting to clean one additional table and that we should be seated in the next 5 minutes. We ended up waiting an additional hour before they sat HALF of us because they were still waiting to "clean the other table". How do you misjudge a 5 minute clean up over an additional hour wait?! When we were directed to our table, it took our server, Tay, awhile to come to our table. When he finally arrived to take our drink orders, we told him we were ready to order our food as well. We were all starving, and had a little kid with us. He said he'd take our drink orders first then come back around to take our food order. Once he took our drink orders, he left without taking our food order. It took him over 20 minutes to bring us water, and over 30 minutes to bring us beers. After 30 minutes, he finally took our food orders. Food took an additional 30 minutes to start coming out. The appetizers we ordered came out with the food instead of as appetizers. I understand the restaurant is packed and busy, but over 30 minutes to bring out appetizers is ridiculous. For a table of 15 people and several appetizers ordered, he only brought us 5 appetizer plates. Seriously?! He also never came to refill our drinks, nor check in with us on how the food was. One of us never got our food while the rest of the table was done eating! We had to ask him 3 times to bring us a sprite and some soy sauce for our rolls and we ended up asking another server we caught walking by. He brought us the sprite and soy sauce immediately and was on top of service when we asked him to refill our drinks or bring us additional condiments. Wish I would have gotten his name as he was super helpful. 20% auto gratuity due to our large party with horrible service from beginning to end, also made us bitter. After all the initial disappointment, we were hoping the food would help redeem the restaurant, but sadly, it did not. Not even close. The food itself was bland and overpriced. In regards to Yard house, their management did contact me and admitted that they think they could of handled this situation a little better. I have been a steadfast lover of Craft beer and have consistently praised Yardhouse for their variety of selection and overall competency regarding Craft beer. Last night however was one of the most embarrassing dining experiences I have ever been involved in. I arrived at 6:00 PM and am greeted by Molly, who seems to be very friendly and knowledgeable server. After perusing their Chalkboard taps section, I notice that they have the beloved Dogfish 120 Minute IPA (DFH120). Given that it is hard to find this beer on tap anywhere in the Houston area, I immediately make my selection. Molly warns me that this beer's ABV is 18% but I assure her I have had this beer before. She then offers me this beer with a glass of water. Very strange as I can already see where this is going. Molly brings me out a 5-6 oz tumbler of the DFH120 which I sip over the next 30 min. At 6:30 the rest of my party arrives and she takes our drink order. As I finish up the DFH120 I notice that they have a Rouge Double Chocolate Stout on tap (8.7 % ABV) which I order for my second beer. Another 30 minutes pass and I order another DFH120. Molly quickly reminds me of the alcohol content of this beer and tells me that she may not be allowed to serve me another one and will have to check with her manager. I inform Molly that I am by no means intoxicated and tell her that would not be necessary. After waiting 10 minutes another DFH120 is brought to my table. Over the course of the next 20 minutes I drink my third beer and attempt to order a St. Bernardus Abt. 12 (10.5% ABV) with my dinner. Molly takes our order and ten minutes later, a manager comes to our table. The manager informs us that we are no longer allowed to order alcohol. When I asked why he informed me that he was told by our waitress that I was continually ordering high alcohol content beers. WOW!!!! REALLY!!!??? I asked him if there was some sort of limit that maybe I was not aware of or perhaps some new TABC law that prohibits patrons from ordering a certain quantity of certain beers. Last time I checked nearly all the beers on their menu are considered high alcohol content beers. He told me no but was concerned about my "rapid alcohol intake" (3 beers in two hours!!!!!). I asked him if I was acting intoxicated or if I was being belligerent to which he responded no. I canceled our dinner and asked to promptly pay the check. I can honestly say that was the first time in my life that I "no tipped" a server. I do not require a babysitter when I drink!!!!! Don't know if this is a regular thing but I can assure you I have been over served here may times in the past with zero hesitation. This type of crap just reinforces why I hate chain restaurants....last time I ever dine with them. Petrol Station and Moon Tower Inn for life!!!!! I have only been in Houston for about 2 months and this was one of the first places I tried. I was very impressed with the amount of beers they have on tap, and the food is good. There is always a wait in the evenings and its a pretty hoppin atmosphere. I would recommend going there for lunch or there late night specials which seem to be popular. The only downside is I feel after you eat a few things off the menu, there is much else to try and it definitely is a hit or miss with some things. Ate here last night with a group of 12. The wait staff were very attentive and handled the group well. The overall dining experience was pleasant with the downfall the noise level. We ordered a variety of appetizers but the highlights were the coconut shrimp and crab/lobster dip. I ordered a cup of onion soup and the shrimp rice bowl. The soup was good not great. I enjoy this place. There is a large variety of different foods and beers for good prices. Happy Hour is Mon-Fri 3pm-6pm Sun-Thurs 9:30-11pm. When you order your meals, ask them to substitute your regular fries for their delicious truffle fries. I really love the ambiance of the restaurant location. There are outdoor seating where you can view the other surrounding restaurants and the patch of grass located in the the center of the complex. If you go in the late evenings the wait time can be pretty long especially for large parties. read more

It is pretty loud and dark inside, so if you want to be able to have a conversation not surrounded by TVs I recommend sitting outside. Service is pretty good and the entrees I tried are okay. My favorite things about this place are the onion rings, ample parking and brownie dessert with caramel ice cream.
