After the transaction, a staff member pointed out the small tip and asked if I would be willing to run another transaction to correct it. Cluck2Go has THE best Hainan Chicken in the area. I drive about 15-20 minutes just for their Hainan Chicken. We usually get the Combo A and it's definitely enough food for two hungry people. With the small eating area, I wish they served everything in anything other than paper plates and containers. I think it's just a waste, but we didn't come here for the cutlery. As you can see, the Combo A comes with everything you see, including two big containers of rice and chicken broth. We always get dark meat and it is delicious. They offer the green and red sauce, but we just love the green sauce of oil, ginger, scallions and salt. My favorite part of this meal is combining the peanuts with each bite. They mix the peanuts with red pepper flakes, fried garlic, salt, pepper, sugar and their secret ingredient that makes your mouth literally tingle...prickly ash oil. There are other menu items, but the Hainan Chicken is what they are famous for... I just love this place and wish it was open later some days when I just need to scratch that itch. We order from here consistently because their Hainan chicken (A+) is that good. It's tender, flavorful, and juicy. They also are not stingy about my favorite green onion sauce like other places. When people are in town, we always order the family pack here either combo A or B and it's always a hit. Parking can be found on the street easily but try to go anytime before 4:30pm if you can. Great casual spot for Hainan Chicken! I had seen the Rowland Heights location before and finally tried this location in Pasadena. Cluck2go reminds me of Taishi Hainan Chicken in Redondo Beach which I used to frequent often but the sauces here are more Chinese flavor profiles versus Taishi. We tried the fried, dark and white meat chickens. The white meat was dry but others were good. All chicken are boneless. As for the sides, the peanuts are really good with a hint of sweetness and the cucumbers are not that spicy. Also got the sesame fried chicken wings to go so I still need to try them. The fried chicken only comes with the red sauce but got to try the green sauce with the steamed chickens. Both are good as you can taste the ginger in them. After eating, I noticed that they didn't give us the dark soy sauce dipping sauce but maybe the soy sauce on the table is all it is -- which was empy so I didn't use any? And... I don't think they have a parking lot in the back so we parked on a side street. As a Singaporean, I'd say that the chicken rice here is legit. Definitely better than savoy. The rice here is flavorful and the chicken juicy and tender. The ginger and hot sauce is great too. The only thing missing from an authentic experience is the dark soy sauce for the rice and the light sesame soy sauce for the chicken. This beats savoy hands down. OMG!! This place is absolutely amazing! We went today (4/13/25), and I 1000% recommend it! I'll admit, I was a little hesitant at first--I'm super picky when it comes to Hainanese chicken, especially after having some of the best back when I lived in Asia. But wow... this place seriously delivered! The server was kind, helpful, and very well-mannered. The food? Incredible. The soup was so flavorful, and the sauces were spot on--each one added the perfect kick. Everything was seasoned just right and tasted authentic and comforting. The chicken-flavored rice was not only incredibly flavorful but also came in an extremely generous portion. In the end, I couldn't finish all the rice as there was just so much of it! The amount of chicken they served was also quite generous. Personally, I preferred the all dark meat option because the chicken was more tender. While the white meat wasn't too dry or tough, there was still a noticeable difference when eaten together with dark meat . The complimentary sauce they provided was the perfect complement to the meal - tangy, sweet, and spicy - it went amazingly well with the chicken and rice. I've had the pleasure of trying both the dark and white meat, and my recommendation is to go for the dark meat. The chicken is completely deboned, and the rice is cooked with chicken broth! since COVID I've only ordered takeout/delivery here. Still my go-to Hainan chicken place in town. I finally went back to eat-in recently, and none of the previous problems were there. Actually, quite a good experience. Food still solid. My group ordered comboB which was plenty of food for 4, easily feed 5 if you're not super hungry. You get "1 chicken worth of meat" as opposed to a whole chicken. They ask you if you want white/dark/both and its the same cost no matter what you pick. You get 4 chicken rices, 4 cups of soup (broth with a bit of garnish only, which is how it should be), a sautéed green beans dish (good), cucumber salad (also good), garlic peanuts (great),4 green and 4 red sauces, 2 sides of pickles, and of course the chicken. Everything is served in takeout containers, and sweet soy sauce is on the table. The place is still small but clean, service was friendly and quick, and there's street parking free out front. Service is much improved from my previous visit years ago. Pricing is very reasonable too, can't complain really. Happy to give them 5/5 now. Ive had it in several places around town and they're the only ones to deliver the whole package, consistent, tasty, and good value. If I had to nitpick, their green sauce could use more scallion but its still good. Not quite the Hainan chicken rice from Singapore, my benchmark, but about as good as it gets around here. [Menu]: This small restaurant has simplified their menu since COVID started and only sell Hainan chicken (regular or fried) rice, few appetizers, and selective drinks/desserts now. [Amenities]: The staff was friendly and placed a to-go order. There's no shade outside of the restaurant and it is an indoor dining space only. I eventually just stood outside for 15 minutes and eventually got my order. *** Fried Hainan Chicken & Rice (fried Singaporean-style poached chicken and chicken rice. Served with pickled veggie, and sweet chili sauce, $12.99): The combo also came with soup and it was such a savory & killer soup. Parking - For parking I parked across the street and walked over. If I remember correctly the parking was free. There are some spots in the area where you have to pay for the meter so be prepared and bring your coins. Hainan Chicken - The whole dish came with a portion of your choice or dark or white meat, soup, picked veggies, rice, and two sauces. The chicken is so tender and has the right amount of salt on it so it's not to overpowering. The rice is so yummy. You can tell that they added a generous amount of chicken fat to it when they cooked it so the rice is more flavorful. The soup was good soup I would say. Let's talk about the sauce though. The orange one is sweet, tangy and a bit spicy. I loved this one a lot. The green one is more savory. It tastes like ginger, green onions and salty. If you dip the chicken in both these sauces and then eat it, it's the best of both worlds.  Do they do dine in? - When I went during June, 2022 they had the option to dine in or do take out. The space to dine in is very limited though since the store is on the smaller side. They have about maybe 3-5 tables open for dine in. If you do go dine in though I suggest you go in a smaller group of less than 5.  Overall - I would say that this place is fairly good. Pretty solid place for Hainan chicken. Although Greenzone is still my favorite for Hainan chicken, this place has better price and portion. You can get regular or fried version. Fried version comes in dark meat only, but you can choose between white and dark meat, or a combination of both, for the regular version. Each dish comes with rice cooked in chicken broth, pickled veggies, chicken soup, and dipping sauce. My wife and I ordered one of each. The regular version came with ginger scallion sauce and red chili dipping sauce, but the friend version only came with the red sauce. On the menu it indicates you can also get sweet soy sauce, but have to request it. The chicken tasted fresh and clean, and both sauces were excellent. The portion was quite generous. I barely finished mine, and my wife ended up taking a portion of her meal home. The chicken soup that came with our dishes was soothing and didn't leave any salty aftertaste. We also ordered spicy cucumber salad, which was refreshing but not all that spicy. Seemed like the cucumber didn't marinate long enough in the sauce.
