Left green onion ginger sauce Right. Chili sauce (not hot)

Small restaurant that serves an ample entree of chicken. I had the hainan (dark meat) chicken entree and my lunch partner had the fried chicken. Both plates were delicious. The plate is served with a cup of broth, rice, pickled vegetables, and your choice of chicken. I would have loved a bit more of the pickled vegetables. The menu is limited, but we came specially for the chicken. We were acknowledged immediately upon entering the restaurant and service was good. The sauces served with the chicken were delicious and the green onion-ginger sauce brought back fond memories. We each took 1/2 of our plate home ! We found street parking in front of the restaurant. We will be back! PS photos were taken after we started eating

There's just something so comforting about Hainan chicken. Simple but done so well here! Ordered 1 of their Hainan chicken with half white meat and half dark. We also got an order of their fried chicken. Both came with a small cabbage salad and chicken rice and a small cup of broth. What really sets this spot a part is the sauces. I love their ginger scallion that comes with the hainan chicken. This is a no frills kinda spot. Food served on a Dixie paper plate but that they lack in frills they make up for in flavor.

I love the Hainan chicken here. Chicken is always soft and juicy. I mostly order take out. Occasionally I dine in. There are options to get white or dark meat . I love to get dark meat because it is more juicy. Good portions ! Just one order and I always have leftover for another meal. Service is good and fast....nothing special. For dine in, sometimes the tables are not that clean. It may be only one server most of the time. I prefer to get take out. Street parking

My go to place for hainan chicken. Chicken is tender and flavorful with the best scallion sauce. The rice was super savory. This place can't be beat for comforting chicken and rice. The peanuts and cucumber salad must try items.

We came on Mother's Day and ordered the Combo B, which came with chicken, rice, peanuts, bone broth, and green beans. We added an order of honey wings for our party of 6. Everything was delicious. The tender, juicy chicken came with ginger scallion oil and sweet chilli sauce. We loved the bone broth. It was yummy without any MSG! We had a person with a peanut allergy in our group and the waiter was very informative about the oils that were used to fry the peanuts and the green beans, which I really appreciated! Service was excellent where the waiter was so attentive and predicted our needs, even before we asked! A great dining experience! $73.75 to feed a family of 6 with enough leftovers for lunch for one person.

The menu is short, understandably built around the standout hainan chicken. Delicious food and great bang for your buck.

We went to Cluck2Go in Pasadena (right across PCC) after we went to the Rose Bowl Flea Market yesterday. We were craving the Hainan chicken. When we walked in, all the tables were taken, so we sat on the barstool where we were all facing the wall. We ordered the Combo B (serves 4-5 people), which included one whole chicken, stir-fry string beans, spicy cucumber salad, fried peanuts, chicken soup (large), and 4 chicken rice. The price has gone up to $50.75. The place looked outdated on this visit, and they should do some remodeling work because a big section of the ceiling was peeling off. Anyhow, the staff were friendly and they asked us if we wanted to change to another table because some customers had already left. They helped us move all the food to the other table. We liked their fried peanuts so much. They were very flavorful and addictive. The stir-fry string beans were also delicious. The spicy cucumber salad was a bit too spicy for me, and I wish it were fresh & crunchy. The chicken rice was dry and not soft, and not flavorful enough. The chicken meat was tender; however, some chicken meat, such as the white meat, was a bit dry. We've had better Hainan Chicken at the other place, so we were a little disappointed this time.

I did a grubhub pickup order and appreciated the package. It came in like a lunchbox along with chicken broth. The portion is so big I got to split it onto two. They had the option to have half dark and white meat which were both good. The hainan chicken was well executed, came out juicy. I just wish the rice was more flavorful as I was expecting it to also be tasty. So with every bite of the rice, I also put some broth. The green and orange sauce were both gingery with the orange sauce having a little kick of spice. I'd be happy to go again for a Hainan chicken fix. Plenty of street parking during the day.

Ive always passed by this restaurant and was curious about it. Ive also ordered multiple times through grubhub, but never dined in. Location isn't hard to find, but the name Cluck2Go was hard to see. All I saw was Hainan Chicken in big letters on the storefront and the actual name was small and on the smaller sign. Parking is street, but there is parking in the back alleyway. I parked on the street. Please read the signs because pasadena is really strict on parking enforcement. On the inside, they have a bar top with some chairs to sit and eat. They also have 3 four top tables and 2 two top tables. Its a small set up, but its pretty roomy. They have a gender neutral bathroom and a self serve water set up. It was also very clean and well kept! You order first and pay afterwards. They bring your order to you and clean up afterwards. I got their dark chicken Hainan chicken and rice. I am not a fan of the pickled veggies so I asked them to put it on the side. Im rating this experience a 4.5 because they did end up putting some veggies on my plate. I tasted the pickled vinegar in my rice and chicken. It was in a small section, so I didnt mention anything. They used regular Dixie-esque paper plates to serve our meals in. It was a very large heaping scoop of rice and they put the ginger and chilis in plastic cups with your meal. My friend said it was spicy! But it was good. Our meals also came with a cup of chicken broth, so he used that to try and calm down the spice level - didnt work. I also ordered their calming chrysanthemum tea. I wished it was colder, but they were nice enough to provide me with some ice on the side for me to add it into my cup. Dining in was nice, but trying to find parking on the street is tough.

Stopped here on a whim because I was next door thrifting and got hungry. It's great if you have a toddler! She loved the chicken broth and the dark meat chicken. It's very juicy and flavorful even without any sauces. I removed a star because it's being served on paper plates and cups...and the staff barely spoke english but the chicken and rice is delicious and authentic. Would come back here for a quick meal when i'm in pasadena again.

So happy this is near me. Great place to get a quick meal, relatively healthy! I like to get Combo A, even as a solo person. I can break it up into 3 or 4 meals. Their sauces are both so delicious. The broth is solid and soothing, my favorite to get when sick. Chicken is great! Service has always been fast and courteous. The inside of the restaurant is cute and simple. Just a few tables.

Fried Hainan Chicken Rice. Tender chicken, nice crispy batter, very tasty even without the sweet chili sauce.
    J S.

I don't typically get Hainan Chicken bc I don't like the flavor of ginger. Good thing they have a fried chicken option which is really tasty. No ginger taste on the chicken itself, the sweet chili sauce does have a light hint of ginger. Didn't need much of the sauce as the chicken itself is already really flavorful on its own. Nice crispy batter, pretty good portions. And yes, the poached chicken is pretty tender when fried as well.. The string beans were great as well with nice crispy garlic bits. Would go again!

Growing up in our hometown, my family ate Hainan chicken rice quite frequently. It was the best! Having been craving this, I finally decided to go to Cluck2Go since I had been there a couple of times. I thought the food was really good. I got there before noon on a Sunday, and there were only about 3 diners. Plenty of street parking is available right outside at this time. As I walked in, the young woman greeted me and asked whether I was ordering to go or eating in. For the very first time, I decided to dine in. As I sat down, she promptly handed me the menu and served a cup of water. After taking my order, she quickly returned with a cup of chicken broth. That was a little odd as my order had not even come out yet. Around 5 minutes later, my food arrived, but by that time the broth was already lukewarm. Since I don't like eating chicken breasts, I ordered the dark meat only. My plate comes with Singaporean style poached chicken, chicken broth infused rice, pickled veggies, and two kinds of sauces. The green one is ginger scallion, definitely my favorite. The red one is ginger chili sauce and mildly spicy. The boneless chicken pieces are served with the skin on. They are extremely tender and moist. The aromatic rice is oh-so-delicious, cooked in chicken broth, ginger, and garlic. I absolutely love the ginger scallion sauce over the chicken that I requested for another one. This very small restaurant is fast food oriented. Bright orange, white paints, and giant wallpapers embellish the walls. For eating in, they serve the food on a thin paper plate and water in paper cups. They provide wooden chopsticks and flimsy plastic spoon. I do wish that they would serve my food in a more sturdy plate or container, as the thin paper plate diminishes my dining experience. Next time I will just do take-outs. The food at Cluck2Go is really good and very reasonably priced. They also give generous servings of chicken. Fast and friendly service. Staff speaks Mandarin. In addition to walk-ins, they also take orders by phone or online.

I was planning to stop here couple days ago but couldn't find parking. Where can I park?

I always just park right in front or across the street on Colorado. There’s usually space even during rush hour. Park run and pick my stuff up run out. The place is so fast. Everything’s always ready to go delicious chicken BTW.

Will they do boneless and/or skinless hainanese chicken rice if asked?

Do you no longer include the sauces for Hainan chicken rice? I ordered three orders through UberEats, and no sauce was included. Do we have to order them separately and pay extra for the sauce? The photo in the menu shows two sauces as part of it.

Do they include the soup in takeout?

    Yes

Do they no longer include the chicken soup with the regular orders? Mine didn't come with today.

Hello Mathew, we are temporarily unable to provide soup to our Hainan chicken rice dishes because there is a shortage in all paper soup cups right now, we have not been able to get any shipments of 8oz paper cups for the last two months and for the…

Did they get rid of the noodle soup?

yes and the curry ! back to savoy i guess

I understand the delivery fee, but what is the added $6+ service fee for?

Dine-In Last Time. Sorry Don't Know Abt Delivery.

Do they use cage free chicken, free range, organic?

    Hahaha, I highly doubt it.

    Are you gluten free?

Rice is gluten free and you can always not order the fried chicken

    Do they have brown rice?

No, but they make a chicken flavored rice that is cooked in chicken broth. It's really good.

The curry broth was creamy, spicy, and packed with flavor. It came with shrimp, fish cake, tofu, egg, corn, bean sprouts, and noodles, so there was a lot in that bowl. There was actually an error with our order, but our server was so apologetic and immediately had the kitchen remake it. We didn't ask or complain, she just wanted to make it right. Really appreciated that. The Nasi Campur was great too. Rice with BBQ pork, Chinese sausage, fried chicken, and egg. Lots of different flavors on one plate and good if you want to try a little bit of everything. Roti Prata is always hard for me to pass up. Crispy and flaky on the outside, chewy inside, and that curry sauce they give you for dipping is so good. We finished that pretty quickly. Good food and even better service. Food came out quickly and was quite good. Singapore Laksa (6/10) - the curry was rather thin and lacking in flavor but maybe that's because it's intended to be more of a soup. Next time I would get the actual curry instead of this, but that is just personal preference Roti (8/10) - probably the best thing we had. It was simple but very delicious, flakey and decadent. The curry sauce was much thicker and paired along well, giving a sweet and mildly spicy flavor Nasi Campur (7/10) - the first bite was delicious, but gradually became more monotonous after each bite. I think the ratio of fried chicken thigh to the sausage and cha siu was slightly off, adding to the repetitive nature of the dish. Overall, it was still quite good

While I was staring at the menu deciding whether I wanted to get anything, several people came and went with their orders and everyone told me to get the fried chicken. So, I went inside and got the fried chicken with macaroni salad. A few mintues later, I added a katsu musubi to the order. This is not fast-food. The wait is real. About 12 minutes. I then had probably about 10 minutes of driving before I sat down to eat. The fried chicken is delicious and has a great crispy/crunchy skin. There is a faint sweetness that coats the chicken. The meat was not super plump like some national-chain places (I think those places brine-injected the chicken). Depending on your preference, this might feel too dry to you. Their dipping sauce for the chicken is very tasty. If they just sold that in bottles, I'd come just to buy that for use at home! Speaking of preferences, the macaroni salad is also well made, but it's simple and might be disappointing if you're expecting some kind of flavor kick. I liked it very much, because it is in the style of the basic macaroni salad -- someone described it as going home to Hawaii for them -- and I think that's what it is. Portions were enough to split into two meals. So I had half of my chicken and the mac salad. I had planned to also only eat half of the musubi. But it was delicious and had a nice crunch which I'm sure would not have held up being kept in the fridge. I really enjoyed the musubi on its own, but also enjoyed taking turns with bites with that sauce added on. I stored the rest of the chicken and mac salad in the fridge and then had them for dinner 6 hours later. Despite being in the fridge, the chicken still had a bit of a crunchy bite to it - it wasn't a mushy soggy mess. Very friendly service. This is not a sit-down place you go to for a dining experience - just a solid place to get food to go that will be delicious.
