Fried version comes in dark meat only, but you can choose between white and dark meat, or a combination of both, for the regular version. Each dish comes with rice cooked in chicken broth, pickled veggies, chicken soup, and dipping sauce. My wife and I ordered one of each. The regular version came with ginger scallion sauce and red chili dipping sauce, but the friend version only came with the red sauce. On the menu it indicates you can also get sweet soy sauce, but have to request it. The chicken tasted fresh and clean, and both sauces were excellent. The portion was quite generous. I barely finished mine, and my wife ended up taking a portion of her meal home. The chicken soup that came with our dishes was soothing and didn't leave any salty aftertaste. We also ordered spicy cucumber salad, which was refreshing but not all that spicy. Seemed like the cucumber didn't marinate long enough in the sauce. Only complaint we have is the amount of pickles that come with the order. Pickles are so cheap & easy to make, and they're so stingy with the pickles. We've never dined in.... always order by phone for pick up. Order is usually ready for pick up within 15-20 minutes. They have an online ordering system that's easy to use. This Pasadena location is very convenient off the 210 freeway and there's is parking in front of the store to quickly grab your ToGo Order and go. I called my order and 10 minutes later it was done. When I got home I was immediately impressed for what I got. They give you complementary soup and also some veggies if that's your thing. The portions are great! After eating one order I was extremely full. I ordered the mixed to have white and dark meat. Both were good. The white meat wasn't dry at all. The rice was also very flavorful. They give you three sauces which is a green onion ginger oil sauce, a sweet chili sauce, and teriyaki sauce. Honestly, all you need is the green onion ginger sauce. Sauce is extra at 25 cents each. To be honest, not a huge fan of the chili sauce as I think it's too sweet. Compared to other Hainan chicken places in the area, it's only slightly more expensive than other competitors by like 1 dollar, however you get a lot more chicken and other things. TL:DR - Hearty chicken curry that hits the spot. COVID protocols are good. Cluck2Go is all about chicken. Hainan chicken, fried chicken, curry chicken, if you like chicken this place does it right. During COVID they no longer have indoor dining and have place a table across their entrance. I think this is a great idea. Not only does it prevent people from entering but it also allows airflow in the most trafficked spot. This time around I ordered their Thai chicken curry. First off, it's not like a real Thai curry, as I don't think there is coconut milk in it. Second, the difference between the Thai chicken curry and their normal chicken curry is the spice level; the Thai one is slightly spicier. The curry isn't like any other curry I had in terms of texture and flavor. It's watery but not too watery, it has that curry flavor, but not a lot of it. If anything the flavor that comes through the strongest is the chicken. I believe they make the curry using a chicken broth, and on top of that they give you a heaping amount of chicken to boot. It's probably about a half chicken or more of meat in the curry. It's substantial! Suffice it to say, I usually come away from eating it completely stuffed. If you're not into curry, then go with the hainan chicken, it's so moist and flavorful. Again, they really just know how to do chicken well. read more

I used to dine in or order pick up from this restaurant. The taste is pretty good. The reason I put a one star is that they take as many as pickup orders as they can, and make people wait for ridiculous long time. I made my pickup order in the restaurant and one server told me the waiting time is 20 minutes. When I came back to the restaurant 40 minutes later, I was told I still needed to wait another 40 minutes to get my order ready. At the same time, many other people were waiting in the restaurant for their orders and complaining for the same reason. I had to cancel my order because I had to leave soon. One server showed very bad attitude although they did cancel the order for me. It is not responsible at all to take such many orders and give wrong estimation to clients.
