I really want to love Dirty Pepperoni. I want it to be the late-night pizza spot of my dreams. It's perfectly located downtown, exactly where you want to grab a pie on the way home after a night out. But the reality has been frustrating. Despite advertising a 2am closing time on weekends, they were closed at 11:30pm last night. My disappointment was immeasurable as I ate my Tommy's tamale instead, fully aware of the stomach ache in my future. That said, when I have managed to get the pizza it's genuinely delicious. Great flavor, crispy crust, hot honey, totally worth the hype. I just really wish they were actually open as late as they say they are. Pizza is the only thing good about this place I've visited several times, and unfortunately there's been an issue every single time. You have a phone line, but it's rarely answered. When it is, we're placed on hold. I once waited 22 minutes before giving up and walking in to place the order myself. The first two times we dined in, the waitress took our order without writing anything down. We gave her the benefit of the doubt, but our entire order came out wrong, even the drinks. The third visit, we were seated upstairs and again our pizza order was incorrect, which caused an even longer wait. If we hadn't gone downstairs to ask about our food, it seems like we would have been forgotten. I don't usually reach out to businesses like this, but after once again being on hold for over 17 minutes and my husband walking in while still on hold, only to be told there were "phone issues" even though someone had answered and placed him on hold, it's clear there are communication and service problems that need attention. You need to be aware of your tables and your phone calls. The details matter, and as paying customers, that's what we look for. read more

This review is only for their take-out since that's the only way I've had their pizza and salad. Ask for extra sauce if you order to go. The pizza is very tasty, the hotter and fresher the better! Not too bad the day after either. I forgot the name of the salad I ordered, but it comes with deli meats, olives and a variety of other ingredients, which to my surprise was good the day of and the day after. We had half dirty pep half naked was better for sure: the dirty pep was too sweet for our liking. The restaurant seems confused on whether it wants to be sit down - fancy or takeout / chill vibes. You kinda seat yourself and then there's plastic cutlery and paper plates even with dine in. The wait if you dine in for someone to take your order / bring your cheque etc is very long. I'd rather it just be a counter service type place at that point.. there was also no water with dine in. Layout of place was strange too. Don't think we will be back for pizza but wings were solid we got the kbbq flavor! read more

I have been wanting to try this place since it open because I'm a fan of Dirtbags California motorcycle shop and follow them on YouTube. So when they opened up a pizza place I wanted to go. Parking is not great but I knew that going in cause it's in Long Beach but it's not a big deal. The place is kinda small, not your typical pizza place. They have two couches like a lounge area, a few tables, a bar area and a upstairs, (not sure what's up there) and one bathroom that everyone uses. The music playing was great, reminded me of 90s club days, at least on this night. The waitress was nice and informed us that they are still in the "soft opening" phase. The table we sat at was wobbly or uneven (already!). She pointed out some items on the menu that were not available and I noticed the menu said no alcohol but they were working on it. But I saw people drinking beer at the bar. So they need to change the menu or I didn't see what I thought I saw. We ordered two pizzas (BYO, dirty pepperoni no sauce and wings) and two sodas. The sodas came in cans. The food came out, looked great and everything was hot, right out the oven hot which is great. Pizza was really good, I enjoyed it very much. Wifey said they put too much pepperoni on it but I think that's a good thing. The only problem I saw with the pizza was,(kind of petty) whoever cut it, needs more training or practice. Some pieces should have been two pieces. Now here's where things got bad, the wings. The wings were not cooked all the way. I had one and something wasn't right but the lighting is kind of dim so I couldn't see. So on the second one I took a bite and used my phone light and saw it was raw. I spit that out. I didn't want to cause a seen so when the waitress came over I told her the wings weren't cooked all the way through. She was apologetic and said they'd cook up another batch. I thought she would take it off the bill since I just ate raw chicken but she didn't. It still gets worse cause I took the new batch to go and put it in the fridge. The next day I went to eat it and guess what, it was also not cooked all the way through. I want this place to succeed so I still gave three stars cause the pizza was great, atmosphere was great but I'd stay way from the wings or any poultry there. I will be back for the pizza only! If you like your pepperoni pizza on the sweet side, then this place is for you. I took maybe 2 bites, one for sure, and instantly disliked the taste. We flagged down the server and she said, " the pepperoni is coated with sugar". Yuck! Ended sending the pizza back and it was substituted with a cheese pizza. After tasting that horrible pepperoni pizza, the cheese pizza went right into the trash can. Definitely not coming back here or recommending it to anybody, unless they like sweet pepperoni pizza. read more
