Really nice place for salads. You can choose one from the extensive menu or custom make your own. Gets really busy with the weekday lunch crowd, but there several people working behind the counter, and the line moves fast. I got a Cranberry lavender lemonade and Bachelor Salad for lunch, and it was filling and delicious.

I love this place. Their ingredients r flipping delicious. My favorite is the Cobb; the butter lettuce, cherry tomatoes and dressing WOW!! I LOVE IT If ur looking for something healthy and delicious. I def recommend MIXT. (Disclosure- it's a little pricey but what isn't in San Ramon ?)

This is a salad place. They offer salads. If you didn't know, salads are healthy-ish choices for lunch that get exponentially better when you add meat, cheese, fruit, and nuts to them. Here at Mixt, you should probably go with one of the seasonal options (usually very solid), although the Orchard is a winner too because it offers two types of meat (chicken and bacon), cheese (cheddar), fruit (apple), nuts (almonds), AND avocado. If your company is buying, get a cookie too. One of my main issues with Mixt is that when you take a salad out, it comes crammed into a container with absolutely no room left, meaning that it's impossible to toss your salad up without getting all the delicious toppings everywhere. I suppose it is somewhat ironic that one of my main issues with a place called Mixt is that their salads aren't mixed. Things that make you go, "Hmmm."* Overall though, Mixt is a solid if fairly boring choice for lunch. I've probably eaten here more times than I probably should have, considering I don't even live in this city. ____________ *If you don't know, now you know: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XF2ayWcJfxo

Very overpriced for the quality! Not a bad lunch option for a quick work lunch but the ingredients are limited and cheap. Majority of the salad was lettuce and the chicken was dry and not great.

Have to say, I've been very impressed with Mixt! I generally avoid ordering salads or sandwiches unless I can trust they will be at least 10% more magically delicious than something I could concoct for a fraction of the price, and Mixt has delivered - even though I've ordered pretty plain and easy-to-self-concoct things. I've had the Cobb Salad several times now and always enjoyed it. The size is good and always includes a solid portion of avocado and chicken, which can't be said for other salad places. We've also gotten group orders from here, and they're always ready on or ahead of time - awesome!

So many toppings to choose from...Hurry up!

So what can you say about Mixt Greens? Not much as it turns out. It's really the preeminent salad-as-destination place in the city or at least in FiDi where there's four of them. Truth be told, I've been to this one more than a few times in the past five years since I've been working in the general vicinity. But I have to admit the inevitable long line around noon is a major turn-off, that and the fact that you consequently increase the likelihood of running into former colleagues. I just don't like engaging in useless chit-chat with people who can't help further my career. Does that make me shallow? Of course not. I'm just about keeping it real. Anyway, blame Mixt Greens for my embittered insincerity because that's the type it attracts. Machiavellian wannabe power brokers. Like me. By the way, did I mention that the salads can really add up when you pile all those toppings on? Ka-ching, ka-ching. That's when I began to realize that mixt greens actually refers to the ten- and twenty-dollar bills you have to give up once your handmade creation is done. I always bypass the specialty salads on their menu to design my own because I refuse to be held to somebody else's limited imagination. But my freedom for self-expression comes at a steep price. It only starts at $7.95 for your bed of greens, butter lettuce in my case. Then it costs fifty cents extra for each "staple", a.k.a. cheap bulk stuff like seeds and zucchini, or an extra dollar for each "specialty", a.k.a. the exotic stuff like hearts of palm, or two dollars extra for the "premium specialties" like macadamia nuts and Spanish white anchovies. Add your protein for another two-to-five dollars. Grilled flatiron steak doesn't come cheap. And finally you have fourteen dressings to choose from. Your resulting salad is a study in abundance. If you get out of there for less than $14, you're a better man than me. And how does it taste? Fresh but ultimately quite bland for all your efforts (see photos). But wait, there's a former co-worker I can't stand. No eye contact, no eye contact. FOOD - 3 stars...a lot of selection at a lot of price points...fresh but ka-ching AMBIANCE - 2.5 stars...ambiance?...I'm in, then I'm out, not time for chit-chat...I hope SERVICE - 3 stars...they mix and match well TOTAL - 3 stars...I design salads

3.5 STARS for value. 4 STARS for salad. 2 STARS for service. Huge and refreshing Caesar ($9.90). It doesn't include meat. It's basically a huge bowl of chopped romaine lettuce, which admittedly I weirdly like, especially with their Caesar dressing which they don't go heavy on (extra points). I just wish it wasn't so expensive. This place is going to make me broke. By the way, to the guy who made my salad, would it kill you to pretend like you don't hate your job?

First of all, the line moves relatively quick. Don't be dissuaded if there are 50 people ahead of you and you really want a salad for lunch. Give it 20 minutes. The salads are a bit pricey. $12-15 for a salad? Ouch. Despite the price, the portions are hearty, the greens and ingredients fresh and the pre-imagined salads on the menu all looked delicious. I enjoyed a seasonal Fall salad, cleverly called "The Beetnik." It featured: arugula, mixt greens, roasted beets, avocado, goat cheese, walnuts, dried cranberries, shaved fennel, fresh herbs and balsamic vinaigrette. Props to them for asking "light, medium or heavy" on the dressing so that I can abide with whatever rules I pretend to follow when it comes to dressings ;). The ingredients were all fresh, although I think the salad was a little light on the cheese and could have used just a tad more. Otherwise, the greens, arugula, avocado, shaved fennel, walnuts -- etc...all came together for a delicious, healthy meal. Wouldn't hesitate to come back for another lunch. There's also plenty of tables outside if you want to stay there and eat! Only a few tables inside.

Seasonal Park Salad -- mixt greens, grilled chicken, roasted Brussels sprouts, shaved Parmesan, toasted pumpkin seeds, avocado

Happy New Year! With the new year inevitably comes some health-related resolutions (funny how those slip my memory during the holidays, huh?). As I looked for some healthy food options near my office, co-workers positively mentioned Mixt Greens. I always see them coming back to the office with a huge take-out box laden with fresh looking veggies and thought this would be a perfect lunch choice when I'm not bringing in my own food to the office. One of the fall/winter seasonal salads is the PARK SALAD -- mixt greens, grilled chicken, roasted brussels sprouts, shaved Parmesan, toasted pumpkin seeds, and herb roasted potatoes. I came after the big lunch rush and they were out of potatoes but let me sub in any other topping (I chose avocado). I requested the whole grain mustard vinaigrette on the side and that worked out wonderfully for eating half my salad for lunch and saving some for later in the afternoon. Perks: + Big portions for the price...almost too big! + You can choose light, medium, heavy dressing (or on the side) + Diverse customization (make your own or choose a pre-fixe salad) + Very fresh ingredients Things to note: - Lunch rush in FiDi is no joke. Get here at 11:30am or after 1pm - Salads are ginormous and I wish they had 1/2 salad options. Try to share with a co-worker/friend if possible Co-workers also highly recommend their sandwiches and I'll try one next time.

I just felt like some of the entree prices were overpriced. On top of that-I wasnt aware of the 5% SF "tax". Other than that-pretty happy all around. This was a great appetizer to share between 2-4 people. The tofu is soft and chewy while the pineapple is crunchy and fresh. The glaze on top is slightly spicy but pairs well with the sweet pineapple. The portion is a good size for an appetizer and the tofu makes it feel like a substantial dish. - roasted cauliflower (8/10): charred cauliflower florets on a bed of sikil pak topped with pickled onions and cilantro. This was my favorite of the dishes we ordered. The sikil pak is a unique spread that I had not seen before. The main ingredients are pumpkin seeds, tomato, and habanero, with the texture of a hummus but the flavor of a salsa. It is also a good size to share as an appetizer between 2-4 people. - garlic butter udon (6/10): udon coated in garlic butter with macadamia nut crumbles on top. This sounded good but was a bit of a letdown after the appetizers. I was hoping for more unique flavors or textures. An addition of something fresh like a pesto drizzle or roasted tomatoes may have added a boost of flavor and color. - kale walnut pesto rigatoni (7/10): rigatoni with kale and walnut pesto topped with blistered cherry tomatoes. I liked pasta better than the udon. The pesto was creamy yet fresh from the pistachio and lemon. The tomatoes added color and sweetness. The portion is good to serve one person or shared when mixed with other dishes. WOULD I GO BACK? Yes, though I would order more of the appetizers and I liked them better than the entrees.
