Ok, this place is really hard for me to review, cause on one end, this is THE BEST Detroit style pizza I've ever had. But is it worth waiting in line for an hour or waiting at your computer at 9am to get in on the next set of released reservations? No, it's not. If you've never had Detroit style pizza, it's doughy/bready like focaccia and has crispy corners like brownie edge pieces. To be honest, despite being a fast food chain, Jet's pizza does it very well. Quarter sheets is better with fresher ingredients and less greasy overall, but outside of LA Jet's is available whenever with no wait and much cheaper. Outside of that, the outside is very non-descript, but the inside aesthetics are retro chic, so clean and well decorated with an obvious retro vibe. All the servers were very nice and friendly. Pizza took maybe like 25 min, but not a big deal and no one rushed us out. We got a Bianca and a red top. Everyone in our party enjoyed the bianca more. The red top was fine, just the order of the layers (chicago style) was not our jam. A couple of notes, reservations open up at 9am each day and if you make a reservation for when the place opens, you can skip the line and just wait by the door. Strolled in about 15 minutes after opening. Seats at the bar afforded us an opportunity to see the show. What we saw was rather interesting. We saw some of the pizza crusts being par-baked and then topped off for another trip into the oven. We also saw whole pizzas being made. The slices here were super crispy. The crust had a nice flavor. The Four Corners slice had lots of contrasting flavors...and I am a sucker for pistachios. The salad had a great miso dressing that felt Italian but with Japanese funk. Heard about this spot thanks to an Instagram reel listing their favorite pizza spots in LA and usually those types of lists are for places too far away from me (west side / Santa Monica / etc) so I was pleasantly surprised when the top spot was near Dodger Stadium! Ended up going for dinner that very night and loved the weekly special - potato pizza! Quarter Sheets has been on my list for a while, so I was excited to finally try it. We ordered takeout, and while the pizza lived up to the hype, the rest of the experience left me feeling underwhelmed. The pizza was definitely the star of the show. We tried the Red Top and the Sicilian Corner both flavorful and nicely crispy. I actually enjoyed the crunch, though my husband thought it was a bit much. The princess cake, however, was a disappointment. It looked good, but it lacked flavor and didn't feel worth the high price. The biggest downside was the service. As a POC, I didn't feel particularly welcomed. While I was picking up my order, I noticed the staff being much warmer and more engaging with other guests. The rectangular Detroit-style pizza here is the real deal and the cakes are legit. The creative concoctions keep changing on the regular. Get them either whole or by the slice. Quiet Storm: There's nothing quiet about this slice. The flavors ring loud and clear. The maitake mushrooms are earthy and succulent. The gremolata sauce is bright green and garlicky. Bits of cured lemon add jolts of sweetness and tanginess. The cream, grana cheese, mozzarella, and thyme have a taste and texture like gravy. Sicilian Corners: The thick crust is the best crust. It is shockingly crispy and crackling. Crunch. Dough. Crunch. Dough. There are bits of sausage and lots of tender green rapini. The tomato sauce is sweet and delightful. Delicious pizza in a charming residential neighborhood! I think this place's deep dish is comparable to Prince Pizza's but it's way closer and more accessible, with tasty desserts to boot! The "Detroit-ish" pizzas here were all great, but the Sicilian corner and the Polish Riviera were undoubtedly the standouts in our meal. Plan on arriving a few minutes before your reservation since parking can be tricky in the area, especially during peak times. The restaurant is also on the smaller side with about 30ish seats, so groups bigger than 6 might be tough. Our party of 5 (plus one small child) ate like kings with plenty of leftovers to go for around $65 a head (not including said small child). read more

We all know the typical flow: the honeymoon phase only lasts until that one bad experience or disappointment that leads you to venture elsewhere. Hasn't happened here yet. Even after a 20 mile drive, maybe only one soggy slice because I took a few corners too aggressively. How is that even possible---they don't even use corrugated cardboard sheets. A relative newcomer to the party, Quarter Sheets Pizza Club began as a pandemic pop-up and now takes residence in a converted shop space in Echo Park. The trim operation specializes in a rotating menu of pan-style pizza and slab cakes, and it has quickly earned recognition as one of the most popular pizzerias in the city. The retro-Italian ambiance is subtly pretentious and effortlessly cool. The nondescript storefront says only "Pizza" above. Enter into a small foyer, separated from the main dining room by a wooden standalone divider equipped with a porthole. The furnishings look straight out of a flea market, ranging from parakeet portraits to plastic grapes. A slender bar runs along the back wall, and the bar shelves are decked with wine bottles, pizza boxes, and thifted knickknacks. Pizzas are served on trays lined with green-and-white checked parchment paper. Vinyl instrumentals from decades past mix with chatter into a noisy cacophony. My mom and I arrived a few minutes before opening on a Sunday to find a sizeable queue, and we luckily snagged one of the last remaining tables. Perusing the menu, we intentionally over-ordered with the plan to take home leftovers. Our meal began with the Braised Gigante Beans, served in a rich, vinegary sauce with cherry peppers and mint. As a whole, the flavors were as enjoyable as they were dynamic, but the beans themselves left something to be desired. Further, croutons were already swimming in the sauce on arrival; fresh sourdough (on the side) would have trumped the soggy bread we were served. Our meal continued with two a la carte slices, the Quiet Storm (highlighted by maitake and cured lemon) and the Sicilian Corner (featuring broccoli Di Cicco). The former maintained an excellent balance between earthy mushroominess and lemony acidity, all atop a pillowy crust. Its counterpart infused leafy green flavor and pops of spice into its rich cheese, and my mom adored the thinner, crispy crust. Next on deck, we faced an entire Pepperoni Pizza. Quarter Sheets' rendition excelled in 2 categories: the greasily flavorful cup pepperoni and the masterfully crispy edges of the crust. However, the innermost parts of the bread erred on soggy, and the overwhelmingly tangy sauce dominated the surprisingly mild cheese. Further, each of the 8 slices was noticeably smaller than either of our standalone singles. Finally, our meal concluded with the brick-sized "Slab" Cake, ours featuring graham-spiced cake, coconut custard, and quince jelly. The dessert was lighter than I anticipated, and although the seemingly overwhelming combination of flavors was surprisingly tame; I would have welcomed a tad more punch. Service was friendly without feeling overbearing. While all of the food was, at a minimum, good to borderline great, no item was incredible enough to justify the price (nearly $100 after tax and tip). If I return to Quarter Sheets, I plan to focus my appetite on single slices of the innovative rotating 'zza, which ended up being the highlight of our experience. read more

I was lucky enough to snag a slice of princess cake. As we checked in I inquired about the availability and was informed that 21 slices were left. This is on a Wednesday an hour after opening, if anyone is reading these reviews trying to hedge their bets on whether a princess cake is in the cards for them. I hope it is in the cards for whoever may be reading this review as it is a delightful cake. And surprise! The marzipan shell on my slice was a delicate baby pink instead of the traditional pistachio green. I think the princess cake colors change just as often as the pizza flavors. Arrived at 6pm on a Wednesday, and after putting our name on the list we got seated in about 15 minutes (even though we thought there was a 20-30min wait!) Meatballs were incredible, really fluffy and flavorful, with a ton of delicious, rich tomato sauce. Little Gem and Chicory salad was generously covered with a vinegar-forward dressing, I personally didn't get any notes of miso garbanzo, perhaps my tastebuds are simply too pedestrian... I'll get the beans next time I'm blanking on the seasonal pizza slices we ordered, but they hit the spot! I still preferred the white Sicilian corner - the sesame crust adds so much dimension.. Ofc the perfectly crispy corners are lovely. I mean, it's the whole point. CRONCH!! I would also like to shout out the interior. I especially loved the framed print of the phallic prawn tower. I don't remember how I stumbled across the Instagram page of Quarter Sheets but I did and am an absolute sucker for a well done page so I knew I had to make it over there as this is also a new spot that popped on my Michelin Guide! We barely managed to get reservation so we're pretty excited to have date night planned here! The hype outside was pretty real, it was packed with everyone who ordered it to go and were eating at the tables provided outside. I walked in and realised how small and cute the space was with a little discoball (love discoball energy) over my head shining through the room. Quirky and eclectic vibe! Being vegetarian we ordered the below and we were absolutely not disappointed!!! 1. Sicilian pizza : 5/5 (the vodka sauce with the pistachio cream on top was a game changer, unfortunately it got sold out after we ordered one pie so definitely get a couple from the start) 2. Bianca pizza : 3.5/5 3. Red top : 3.5/5 4. Red top with ricotta : 4/5 5. Princess cake : 5/5 (sells out very fast so I recommend to prebook it) The best part about this spot is that you can mix and match your order with individual quarters instead of the whole pie! Unfortunately the Sicilian doesn't come as a whole pie :-( The quarters were soft, airy not too doughy and were made really really well so I completely get the hype and why it's part of the Michelin Guide! LA does Pizza just as good, if not better than many other places and I stand by that. I've had my eye on Quarter Sheets for what seems like a good amount of time now. I often wanted to try them when they had their pick up window in Glendale, but didn't get around to it. The place was larger than we anticipated but I was perfectly satisfied to have dined here with a group no larger than our size of 5. We arrived around 6p, knowing they don't take reservations and may very well have to wait. The place was full but we were told 20 minutes which wasn't so bad at all! I LOVE this spot, every single thing about it! It was EXACTLY what I wanted my birthday dinner to be. Walked in to no indoor tables available, but we were able to eat at the standing table outside which was honestly super fun and doable (especially if you're just getting pizza / handheld foods)! We got the gigante beans, almost all the pizzas, and the pear cobbler for dessert - devastating to miss the princess cake so if your heart is set on it make sure to arrive earlier than 7! Gigante beans - my favorite of the night. It was warm, comforting, and had a nice kick. Perfect for a chilly night Red top + ricotta - very light and yummy! Pepperoni - favorite pizza. The pepperonis were crispy without being overly greasy and that crust is so great Polish rivera - really good, but I think my expectations were just a biiiit too high. Both of my experiences here have been nothing short of exceptional, so I'd say they definitely live up to the hype. Came here for my second time earlier today and ordered 3 slices of the Red Top ($5/slice). I was hungry. I'd say 2 slices would probably satisfy most. Service is very accommodating, helpful, and friendly, but this place does get extremely busy at times. Luckily, we were able to grab the last seats open at the bar, but the line seems to be nonstop. If you're in the area, I'd highly recommend checking this spot out. Prices are reasonable for the top notch quality, and the restaurant itself is quite fun. The vibes are on point. I love the music. They also have excellent desserts, so don't overlook that and save some room.
