Both were so good that I honestly don't have a favorite. The neatballs had a nice mild masala curry and tzatziki sauce over rice and kale. I got the spicy fried chicken sandwich which was 6/5 shockingly good and better than many real chicken sandwiches I've had. Was not super spicy (or spicy at all to me lol) but the flavors were incredible. Highly highly recommend My friend got the poke bowl which was also 5/5 incredible. I usually hate beets but they were marinated so well that it tasted honestly very similar to poke. She did mention having had this dish here multiple times, and noticing a variety in the quality of how well marinated it is, so there definitely may be day by day variety. The Dal, although beautifully presented was under seasoned & the little chunks of squishy canned tomatoes & muddy flavors were a turn off for me. Included in the beet salad was avocado, sesame seeds and roasted rice seasoned with nori which adds both texture and flavor. The "Neatballs" was falafel-like, but lighter in texture. For his lunch, he ordered the impossible burger with fries. Just like me, he was happy with his lunch because his burger was juicy and the fries were cooked the way he likes them. Another aspect that I liked was that carafes of water, glasses, take-out boxes, salt and pepper are all self service. When the manager came by and asked about our experience, we explained that we were happy with the food, but that the promotion of $10 credit on Click To Pay was inoperable. Terrible service, rude employee, and messed up kids' order twice! We came in around 11:15am and ordered two kids' burgers. Both came out with cheese and aioli. I politely asked if they could take off the cheese, and the server said, "No, the cheese is already melted. I'll make a new one." I said, "Okay, please make it plain." The server then said "OK!!" in a super rude tone, took the plate away, and said they'd make a new one. A few minutes later, she comes back, throws the plate right in the middle of the table, and says, "I made a new one and charged for it." I asked, "If you're charging for the new one, where's the old one I already paid for?" and she said, "I threw it away." Unreal. And the worst part? The new burger also had aioli on it again. This one totally rocked my feeling about veggie protein. Great in its own right. Very juicy and tasty. The fries were excellent. Light and crisp on the outside. They have a curry flavored ketchup that I found tasty and novel. My wife had the beet poke bowl. The multi grain falafel were light and crispy. The various grains, nuts and other crispy elements of the salad make it not only tasty, but texturally appealing. Service and the space were great. I recently went to Rad Radish with my uncle for a meal. It is fast casual. You order on your phone, on the tablet, or at the counter. Food is brought out to your table after they give you a number. I prefer having a server for a nice experience yet this format worked out just fine. We each decided to go for the neatball masala aka super grains, kale, pickled carrots, tzatziki, coconut masala, sesame, and lemon for 16 USD. It was tasty although portion could have been a bit bigger. For dessert my uncle got a vanilla oat milk soft serve sundae that he enjoyed. I got a made in house chocolate chip flaxseed cookie that was quite alright. We both thought the food was solid. Awesome it is all vegan. One complaint we both had was they played music that neither of us was into. It would be much better to have silence or perhaps the Miles Davis album Kind of Blue. The music was a turn off to both of us. It wasn't overly loud yet we could both hear it and it took away from the ambience of dining here. Still we both said we would return. Solid food. There is savory egg and creamy cheese between salty bread. - curried cauliflower (6/10): turmeric coated cauliflower tossed with almonds and raisins. We got this as a side dish and it paired well with the neatball masala as the flavors were similar. I would have wanted the cauliflower tossed be cooked longer as it was slightly raw. There were not many almonds in our portion but we did get a good amount of golden raisins. - neatball masala (9/10): four lentil meatballs coated in coconut curry sauce with kale, tzatziki, and carrots on a bed of mixed grains. I had tried this dish at the sister restaurant Wildseed and remember liking it there. The warming spices in the sauce make it feel cozy while the tzatziki cools the dish down. The carrots add a good pickled flavor and crunch. A good dish for one or to share between two people. - wildseed burger (9/10): mushroom and spinach patty with tomato chutney, grilled onion, and lettuce between sesame topped buns. This was my favorite of the dishes we ordered. I liked the combination of the hearty mushrooms with the spicy chutney and the sweet onions. - French toast (5/10): two slices of levain toast battered and pan fried and topped with berries and coconut cream. This is only on the brunch menu. The portion is a good size and can be shared among 2-4 people when paired with other dishes. The bread was crispy and held its texture even when cooked. Rad Radish occupies the space that previously housed The Grove representing a huge upgrade. Serving exclusively vegan fare, the offerings taste very fresh and laden with a bounty of high-quality, colorful ingredients. It's fair to say that I left here feeling like what I'd consumed was what I should always consume, even though I'm not vegan. Still, I missed the enjoyment of, say, a hard boiled egg or a little shredded chicken. So I'll likely never be vegan. I enjoyed my meal-sized Reset Salad ($13) to which I added Green Falafel ($3). It was all of the adjectives used in the paragraph above but somehow seemed a bit one-note by meal's end which is why I think the sweet spot here is ordering and sharing a wide variety of menu items. The (extremely mild) Curried Cauliflower ($7) was a step in this direction. Rad Radish is a place where one can comfortably dine solo but beware: before events in the area the place gets jam-packed. Service, as it were, is very 2023 and not a model which I enjoy. If you scan a QR code at your table you cannot even read the menu until you've agreed that you're ordering and accepting addition of an 18% gratuity. Ask, and you can get a printed menu (thankfully), then you can rise and order from a centralized touch screen or a real person behind a counter. The SF Mandate is also added to the tab. Your meal here can get pretty pricey pretty fast for a place where you're providing much of the service yourself. Service model aside, I liked Rad Radish well enough and easily recognized that they deliver high-quality fare. There's a lot of competition in this area but if what you're after is vegan fare, Rad Radish has it nailed. read more
