This place is everything you could want in fast food. It's quick, cheap, and delicious. I can get so much sushi here for so cheap. I can feed my whole family here without breaking the bank all while feeding them delicious Japanese food. I love the Philadelphia roll, the crunch roll, and the chicken and beef bowl. They're quick to make your order and they always include a generous amount of soy sauce, wasabi, and ginger. The service is ok but I'm willing to forgo that given everything else they provide here. I went to an open house and the selling agent brought this for lunch and it was a huge plate of rice and veggies and meat and smelled really good. He told us it was Roll & Grill around the corner and its so worth the price. You know where we were headed to next! My first expectations were that it was just like a mom and pop yoshinoya with terriyaki or beef bowl. But turns out they have sushi too! I got a beef bowl and then 1 salmon handroll just because I was curious. While waiting for my food you can see how busy they are and how many customers and regulars they have. They are quick and efficient and people are just constantly in and out the door. Seems like best thing to do is order over phone and come pick up right when its ready. It took awhile for my food to come out but understandable seeing the volume that they had to cater to. I got to my car and started eating and it was so good! The meat is tender and not dry at all. They provide you additional sauces and hot sauce to pair with your liking. And to my suprise that handroll was pretty darn good! I was one of the first customers to order, but it took me almost 40-50 minutes to get my order (baby lobster roll and shrimp tempura udon). Everyone who ordered before and after me proceeded to pick up their orders while I was still waiting for mine. I asked two times about an update, but they just said "The baby lobster isn't ready." The owner is a wonderful person and immigrated from Japan. I haven't been back in a while but I often went and was introduced to Roll & Grill by my husband back when we first started dating. The prices are so affordable and the quality of the fish - sashimi, rolls, etc, and the vegetarian options are so excellent. There's something here for everyone. The restaurant is open and there's a few options for seating at tables or at the counter. You can watch your meals made fresh to order, which is really cool. It is clean and inviting. I've always enjoyed my visits. There's also plenty of space when there's a line or when you're waiting for your order. I wish them all the success and I can't wait to go back! read more

Great food as always! I prefer to call ahead if it's available because sometimes wait times can be a little long but the phone line is often busy. However, I ordered an eel roll today and was unable to eat it. I am allergic to avocado and order my rolls without it. The eel roll on the menu is listed as having eel, imitation crab and cucumber. The roll i received had avocado instead of cucumber. I go out of my way to ask for rolls without avocado if it is listed as an ingredient and was disappointed that the roll did not come as advertised and therefore was a waste. This will likely not completely deter me from coming again in the future but rolls should come as they are listed on the menu or there should be some kind of notice that the ingredients have changed for allergen purposes. read more

I've been coming here for a year now just about every Saturday from Yorba Linda. We spend about $30 per visit and we always tip. Tonight I ordered and forgot to ask for brown rice instead of white rice in my meal. I asked her to make the change and she said it's extra $1.08 more. I had $1.00 cash and I went to my car to get the change. Unfortunately I didn't have any change so I pulled out my debit and she said "too late food is ready." I said "ok then I will order the rice on the side, but I don't have 8 cents so I will use my debit," she says "$7.00 min order to use debit." I said "we come here every single Saturday for the same order and spend over $30 a visit and we tip on top of that when it's not even necessary and you can't overlook 8 cents?" She just shrugged her shoulders and said "sorry the credit card company charges a lot so we have a $7 debit min" One of the customers was so nice and said he had 8 cents in his car, but I was embarrassed said "it's ok, thanks for offering." The other customer shook his head and said "8 cents!" I got to the car and told my husband that over 8 pennies she lost 2 long term customers. It's the principle of the matter. I'm a loyal customer and tonight is my last visit. She's an older Japanese lady. Normally there's a really nice young girl and young guy working. This lady always nickels and dimes. Once she forgot to charge me $1.00 when I used my debit card and she made a separate transaction for the $1.00 debit fee. I believe she's the owner. I'm pretty bummed. read more
