At 12:01 pm, first visiting to have a quick brunch before heading to San Antonio trip with bae. Had my car next door, "Kwik Kar autocenter" for engine oil refill, it is nice to spend some time meanwhile waiting for my car gets ready. I ordered a bucket of their chicken tenders and my bae ordered a cheese burger (forgot the name), an add of fries. All for 15.03 as a total. This is pretty good. My tender came as spicy chicken tenders with a ranch sauce, it was juicy hot. I probably visit here more if I have to get my car checked up at Kwik Kar. I'm going to keep this review short and sweet. Literary sweet....see the delicious custard I had shown below. They have some great favors to choose from and always a great place to visit on a hot summer afternoon. Food: They have great variety of food. You can get a great burger or a nice grilled chicken sandwich. Their deserts is really what you would want. They have several choices of custard flavors and everything is made fresh to order. Prices are just right and everything has great flavor. Service: This is where they could use the improvement. Customer is service is always important and there were several employees standing around at the time of service and employees was not confident about their answer and not providing suggestion of specials or offerings. They greeted customers with a smile but could have provide additional assistance with overall appearance and service. Overall: I would recommend this location and stopping by for a delicious afternoon snack or nice lunch. I wish them nothing but the best in the near future and hopefully they can make some minor improvements on their customer service. read more

Culver's food is always hot and fresh, the inside of the restaurant is always clean and has associates walking around making sure it's clean and to their standards. The frozen custard is phenomenal and the chocolate in the tasty waffle cone is the best. The drive through is usually long and takes a while. Where's the beef ? We each ordered a Sourdough Melt. Both sandwiches were really skimpy on the meat, the cheese and especially on the onion. What gives at this Culver's? The fries were fine. I usually enjoy my Culver's Meal. I am so very sorry that I did not walk this food back to the counter for a refund and then leave. That's what I will do next time. This was an inexcusable food item to serve to a loyal, paying customer. Be a while before we eat there again. I have to assume that this is the way the Culver's headquarters tells the local outlets to serve the Sourdough Melt. I doubt that anyone would prepare such a poor sandwich on their own initiative. Culver's has such a diverse menu, this makes it very hard to review. The range of experiences you can have at Culver's is pretty varied. Some of the items on the menu are definitely not what you would expect to see at a fast food chain, but are served very fast. I love the Butter Burgers.. They are yummy fast food treats. The fries at Culver's are sub par but the burgers are rockin for fast food drive through burgers. I have had several of the dinner options also, such as the Pot Roast. You don't quiet get diner quality with the Pot Roast type options but they are still a great deal for the price and rather tasty. You can also get most of the Diner type food as as sandwich.. using the Pot Roast as an example for instance they also have a Pot Roast sandwich. The Frozen Custard is also pretty awesome. They have a rotating flavor of the month selection that is always interesting. The Custard is definitely better than your average fast food soft serve. Even taking Culver's food for what it is I still feel like there could be some quality improvements. I feel like the burgers are better than McDonald's quality but no where near P'terry's quality. The Diner food is somewhere between a TV Dinner and Denny's. If they would improve the quality of the food a bit I wouldn't even mind paying a bit more. If you need a fast lunch Culver's will do fine.. but if there are better options out there why bother. read more

We bought the cod dinner plate with coleslaw and mashed potatoes/gravy. The fish was very boring (I let my cat eat it). The coleslaw was the worst I've ever had. (I threw it in the trash) The mashed potatoes were kind of hard and old & flavorless - the gravy was not good either. (Trash again). My daughter got the deluxe bacon burger and she said it was horrible and gross. She also got the fried cheese curds. They were so salty and rancid oil taste so they ended up in trash. This is such an amazing place that I drove all the way from Bee Cave. My order was great except for stale bun. I offered to pay for a new one, that's all I wanted. But the cashier insisted that he take my food and they brought me out a new order. The new order didn't have bacon on it and they put lettuce on it, which was not what I ordered. I kindly asked them to remake it thrice! After the third attempt I asked for a refund. The third burger was as thin as paper and burnt. The bacon was dried out and burnt. I believe the cook served this on purpose. It's a shame that they couldn't just give me a new bun! Really sad. read more

We used to frequent this store twice a week until what took place today September 25th. Jonny took are order I had the double bacon deluxe with extra onion and onion rings no mayo . First off my burger was burnt the bacon was burnt there was mayo on my burger and barely any onion. My wife ordered the single burger no mayo no pickle and extra onion and fries. Her burger was also burnt and had barely any onion . When I asked Jonny for a bbq sauce she rudely said that will be 30 cents . I have been coming to this location for over a year a never been charged once for sauce . The entire staff seems to have a attitude and love to laugh at customers very unprofessional. The time of my order was 10:42am on 9/25. Please teach your staff to be polite and respectful and learn to make food properly to order. When a customer says extra onions it means extra onions . When a customer says no mayo it means no mayo. Also you had no regular root beer. When I asked about it the staff said we will get it when we get it rude !!!!!! read more

What separates a "fast food" experience and that of a quality dining experience? The people. Jayden (Jaiden, Jadin, Jaydin?) is the manager of this establishment, and it's no secret why. During my last trip to Culver's I arrived a little bit ill-prepared. The sign in front of the register read "Sorry, but we don't accept bills larger than $20.", and I only had a $50... I've got no one to blame but myself for this, but before leaving Jayden ran up to the counter, pulled out his personal wallet, and handed me 2 neat $20 dollar bills, and a $10 dollar bill in exchange for my $50 dollar bill, ultimately saving me a trip to go get change elsewhere! His elite service didn't stop there, however. He then proceeded to personally prepare my favorite frozen treat, and it was the best one I'd enjoyed yet! Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised. Thought we would try a new place. Shakes were good but we have been waiting for 2 cheese burgers and 2 fries for at least 20 minutes and 9 cars have gone behind us. Culver's food is just so-so. It's overpriced and usually cold. My breaking point is that the place on William Cannon smells bad! Stopped coming to this location a few months ago because I was yelled at when I asked for my burnt fried shrimp to be fixed. Tried to go back today for the same fried shrimp and instead got some sandwich that had items that I was allergic to. Called the location and spoke with a manager that wouldn't give me his name and told me oh well when I told him the issues. If I was any of you reading this I would really hesitate from going to Culvers. I was one of their best loyal customers and now I won't even give them the time of day, as this is now the second time they have treated me like a bug under their shoe. It's really horrible that they would treated their customers like this. Especially since we spend our money there. You would think they would want to keep their customers happy since we are the reasons why they are still open. Just baffled!!!! Spent $14 to get told oh well and not be able to eat. They closed the location in Buda, TX which was the closest to my house :( While in Austin and craving burgers I couldn't resist to find the closest location. They have amazing fries, even if you don't order anything else on the menu just get the fries. They're the perfect size and are so yummy! Their Burger Buns are so delicious which I'm guessing is due to the butter. I always enjoy the decor since this is bottom line-fast food. Yet, the decoration is very Diners colors and sitting area, doesn't make the environment as cold as other fast food joints. Let me start by saying I love Culver's frozen custard! If I was not concerned about being as big as a house then I might stop here everyday to get some and check out the flavor of the day. Since I do try to think about what goes into my mouth I really do not go here but a few times a year. Their custard is yummy! I love the smores flavor of the day! Culver's has a lot on the menu and most of it is decent too from the items I have tried. Their butter burgers are good and juicy. When you eat it it drips down your hand. Their fries are OK. The chicken strips are OK. The cheese curds are pretty good. There are several other things on the menu I have never gotten but have heard are pretty good too. The thing is that when I want a burger I will probably go somewhere like P-terry's or Whataburger. That is just it - when I want this genre of food - Culver's is not on the for front of my mind. If I was looking at Culver's as just an ice cream shop they would probably get 4 stars from me - that custard has never let me down! read more

I wanted to have a hamburger, so I looked up on Yelp.com (yay for your reviews!) for a fast food close to my new apartment.... there was Culver's with many positive reviews. So, my boyfriend and I went to this place and ordered some food. The food was not so amazing as the reviews on the below, but it was really good. I had a hamburger with swiss and mushrooms, and It was so big, Whataburger sized, but with the better quality beef. The chocolate shake was so gooooood, that I refused to let my boyfriend to have more than a few of sips and kept the rest to myself. ha. My boyfriend's opinion on Culver's? Not so good, because he hated their mashed potato. He grades the restaurants by tasting their mashed potato. Culver's mashed potato tasted like it was not done properly, because it did not have any taste of butter, spices, or whatever. I had always pictured a stick of butter jammed inside some ground beef, and I was informed more recently that it's just a little butter they put on the buns. OK, I can deal with that. Took my car in for an inspection at a place next to Culver's and decided to finally check it out. Had planned on a burger, but found a really good selection of meals on the menu. I had the Reuben, because I love Reubens and given the opportunity, I'll buy one... anywhere. Take a chance. I loved it... I was shocked at how much better it was than what I had expected. Yes! This place has Real Frozen Custard!! Very Very Smooth & Creamy! I did not try the food so the 5-Stars is just for the Frozen Custard - so creamy compared to any ice cream or frozen yogurt I have ever had. We had one scoop of the daily special flavor: chocolate w Heath bar crunch & almonds, that was yummy but kind of takes away from the true custard experience, so we also had one scoop of plain vanilla to get the full effect of the smooth creamy goodness. I had a burger, fries and a chocolate shake. The chocolate shake was not good. It was hot, tasted like whipped chocolate milk. I don't think it had any ice cream. I asked for mustard on my burger. There was one little spot on the middle of my bottom bun. The lettuce tasted odd, the tomato was not ripe and I got the hull of a purple onion. The fries were good. I wrote the same review for both locations, they're both top-notch! This place never ceases to amaze me. It looks like fast food, but place an order in the drive through and you'll see that it's not. They always tell you to pull up and they'll bring the food out to you. This is because they don't cook it until you order it. Now their burgers are great, I love the mushroom swiss. The have a marvelous pot roast sandwich that reminds me of the incredibly good pot roast my mother made. The thing I crave the most though is the best (by far) fried fish sandwich (cod) in Austin. On a bun, with shredded cheese, lettuce, tartar sauce and a pickle. It's just great. Service is always friendly and excellent. I've never had a bad meal at either of the two locations. Culver's, and their INCREDIBLE staff, came to our rescue! In the middle of my son's birthday party, we realized the pizza we had preordered was going to be two hours late. My backyard was full of hungry three-year-olds, so I raced to Culver's to see if they could help. I was so stressed, but the staff kindly and skillfully helped me place a large order and very quickly cooked over a hundred chicken strips for my order. I saw my first Culver's in Branson, MO., many, many years ago and I really wanted to stop there for some midwest goodness but I, sadly, ran out of time and I never got my butter burger.
