The reason why this place is popular because the price is really good. You can get a large decent meal for $4.95 during lunch special. Overall the people here are nice, and the food is decent. The only reason I gave them one less star is because I think they can improve in cleanliness. I came here for lunch and ordered Lunch Special B, which cost $8.50 - 8 pieces of Crunch Roll, 4 pieces of California Roll, and 4 pieces of Spicy Tuna Roll, also comes with a side of soup or salad (I opted for the salad which comes drizzled in miso dressing). The customer service was super prompt. We received our food within a couple of minutes after ordering. The servers were constantly running around, while also manning the cashier station, so kudos to them for making an effort to deliver attentive, efficient service, especially during the lunch rush. Also, I think they should bring in more tables (and additional chairs for the countertop area) because my friend and I were narrowly lucky enough to snag an empty table. The lunch special prices were cheap, but the quality of the sushi was alright... almost borderline mediocre. The sizes of the sushi were inconsistent (the filling varied from overstuffed to hardly any filling) and some of the sushi rice was too vinegary, which was definitely off-putting. I was visiting a friend in Fullerton, so I don't usually come around to this city too often, so it's not likely that I'd come back here or go out of my way to come to Roll & Grill. read more

Ordering: order at the front and take a seat! Food: Solid quality, good portions, cheap price! $30 fed two people and we had leftovers!! Baked salmon roll: 4/5 a solid salmon roll. Other places have salmon on the inside too but for $7.95 I'm not complaining. Chicken plate: 5/5 this portion was amazing for being under $6! The rice was especially delicious and fluffy. Hawaiian roll: 4/5 Not a stand out roll but still good quality, fresh fish, and the rice was really nice. The lines at this place is generally quite incredible, but so is their ability to turn it over. I got my food in the time I tried to write this review. No sit in, only take out. This place is a solid "get your lunch if you work nearby" kind of place with great prices. The chicken bowl combo is under 5 dollars, and the sushi roll combo is under 9. Would come here all the time when I used to go to CSUF because it's so tasty and affordable. I came back during the pandemic and they have the dinner closed. They only do to-go orders for now. The food is still amazingly delicious and you cannot beat the price. My go to is the "lunch special A" it comes with a salad, rice, teriyaki chicken, 2 gyoza, & 1 egg roll all for $5. This beats getting a burger or fast food ANY day! Also: the staff here are amazing! They try to run the line as fast they can as they're also attentive to their customers. I highly recommend this place for their 'lunch' specials that are actually served all day! Best bang for your buck. I usually go for the lunch special C which comes with teriyaki chicken, rice, miso soup, salad and 4 cali rolls. I always get so full from it & it only costs like $7. I've tried their eel sushi and salmon sashimi before too! So good for the price! They don't do half order sashimi, but they do let you mix & match to make 8 pcs sashimi (i.e. 4 pc Salmon & 4 pc Tuna) It's take out only for now. read more

I can easily recommend the Baked Salmon roll, Baby Lobster roll, Rainbow roll, spicy tuna roll and any of their hand rolls.
